Ecology : Lowland rain-forest; weed of cultivation, waste places, roadsides, etc. in the wetter lowlands; soil commonly sandy, silty or sandy loam, black riverine soil or grey-brown basic clay; 0- 1900 m alt. Bioko, Annobon; tropical Arabia.
  Very variable
Biol./Eco : Herb; Dry, Humid, Subarid, Subhumid; Anthropic, Dunes, Forest, Inselberg/Rock Face; 0-499 m, 500-999 m, 1000-1499 m; distribution: Africa. Naturalised in Madagascar.
