Ecology : Along the edge of a narrow limestone ravine, area generally with Acacia-Commiphora bushland; 1050 m alt.
  Known only from the original collection made by T. H. E. Jackson in 1943 (Haseltonia 13: 34-35, 2007) (cultivated at Johannesburg). Later widely distributed among botanical gardens. Very similar plants are known from Somalia.
