Biology : Plants suckering to form often large clumps; leaves lanceolate to 8-15 (-20) cm wide towards the base, dark green and often bronzed, with marginal teeth sharp, but not strongly pungent and never joined by a horny rim.
Ecology : On sandy soil in open deciduous woodland; 600-1825 m alt. – In S part of range.
  Hybrids are recorded with A. kedongensis, A. macrosiphon, A. ngongensis, perhaps A. rabaiensis.
