Ecology : Humid sands; swamps; peat bog with Sphagnum; humid hollows; dambos; grassy places periodically flooded; 1220-1850 m alt.
  Variable in size of inflorescence. – Lock (Fl. Zamb., l.c.) suggests that more than one taxon may be involved.
  Perhaps also in Tanzania.
