Biology : Epiphytic or epilithic herb, large; stems 1-2 m long, 2-winged, hanging, or creeping, with numerous aerial roots; leaves numerous, distichous, flat, oblong-elliptical-lanceolate, 5-15x1,5-4,5 cm, keeled beneath, thickened, yellowish green, apex obtusely 2-lobed; inflorescences 2-7,5 cm long, pendent; flowers large, fragrant, single or in pairs on long peduncles (4 cm), pale green; tepals lanceolate-acute, 3-6x0,3-0,9 cm; lip ± orbicular, 2-5,2x2,5-3,8 cm, white with green base; spur 3,5-4,7 cm long, pale green, tapering from a wide opening to the middle, then abruptly reduced.
Ecology : Humid forests, forest gallery, swamps, swampy places; lava flows; in well-shaded sites; rather low down on trees near watercourses, or climbing over mossy rocks; 650-1500 m alt.
