Biology : Epiphytic herb, dwarf, usually forming a tuft of flattened stems 20-40 cm long; stems branched, with numerous very fine roots between the leaves in lower part; leaves numerous, in 2 rows, deciduous, falcately oblong-elliptic, 1-2,5x0,5-1 cm, bilaterally compressed, with a wide groove on upper surface nearly up to apex; inflorescences opposite leaves, shorter than these, 1-4-flowered; pedicel and ovary c. 8 mm long; flowers white, fleshy; tepals ± elliptic, apiculate, 4-9x1,5-3 mm; lip distinctly 3-lobed, obovate, 4x5 mm, mid-lob longest; spur c. 7 mm long, straight, very slender.
Ecology : Forest; rain-forest; swamp forest; on large trees; 0-1300 m alt.
  Similar to A. distichum but larger in all parts; in floras also confused with A. bancoense (see below under this species).
