Confused with A. aporoides and in particular, A. distichum (about 90% of all herbarium specimens determined as A. distichum in the herbaria of BR, BRLU, P, WAG, belong to A. bancoense according to Simo & al. in Scripta Bot. Belg. 46: 460, 2010). – A. bancoense is smaller than A. distichum in all parts, but flower organs of different shapes.
