Ecology and distribution

Biology : Terrestrial saprophyte, leafless; rhizome subterranean, horizontal, with fleshy fusiform tuber 4 cm long, c. 0,7 cm Ř, with ring-scars of cataphylls; stem borne at apex of tuber, to c. 7 cm long, with cataphylls; peduncle slender, to 10 cm tall, erect; rachis to 4 cm long, closely 1-5-flowered; flowers white to pinkish, c. 1,5 cm long, tubular (tepals connate) in lower half, widely open towards apex; pedicel and ovary c. 1 cm long; tepals c. 1,5 cm long, 0,5 cm wide; lip free, distinctly clawed, orbicular-obovate, c. 1x0,5 cm, indistinctly 3-lobed, apex of claw with a reflexed ligule-like callus.
Ecology : Forest; rain-forest, in shade among rotting leaves on forest floor; 800-1050 m alt.
