Biology : Small epiphytic herb with wiry rhizome; pseudobulbs 2-10 cm apart, 2-leaved, round or ovoid, 1,5-3,5x0,3-1,2 cm, reddish; leaves elliptic, 0,5-6,8x0,2-0,9 cm; inflorescence 3-12 cm long, erect or arching, 4-16-flowered; peduncle wiry, 2-6 cm long; rachis ± zigzag, 1-6 cm long; bracts spreading, ovate, 2,8-3,5x1,6-2,5 mm, membranous; flowers distichous, recurved, not fully open, sepals and petals white flushed with purple, lip yellow; sepals ovate, 4-6x2-4 mm, acute; petals ± obovate, 2x1 mm; lip oblong, 2-3,5x1-1,5 mm, recurved at about middle, fleshy.
Ecology : Forest; evergreen forest; swamp forest; “sunk in moss and lichen and forming large colonies on trunks and lower branches” (I. & E. la Croix, 1997: l.c.); on, e.g., Syzygium cordatum; at low level above ground; 1300-2500 m alt.
  Close to B. bavonis, B. prorepens.
