Biology : Epiphytic herb; pseudobulbs 4-8 cm apart, 2-leaved, ovoid, 5-12x2-5,5 cm, flattened, 2-3-angled; leaves petiolate (0,6-1,5 cm), lanceolate, 12-30x3-8 cm, thick; inflorescence 30-100 cm long, 20-80-flowered; peduncle 13-45 cm long, locally with dark hairs; rachis widened, flattened, blade-like, 11-55 cm long, 1-4,5 cm wide, edges sharp, green, purple-spotted, with dark hairs; bracts reflexed, rhomboid, 6-8x6-9 mm; flowers distichous, borne along a median line of rachis, not fully open, pale green or white, streaked or flushed with purple; sepals triangular, 6-14x2-7 mm; petals triangular, 5-9x1-2 mm, tip caudate; lip ovate, 3-6x3-4 mm, slightly recurved.
Ecology : Forest; Gilbertiodendron dewevrei forest; riverine forest; secondary forest; in the canopy of tall trees, and on large branches 4-5 m above ground level along streams; 200-770 m alt.
  Siegerist (2001: 60) reports that a well-grown spectacular specimen at the 41st International Orchid Show in Miami, Florida, in 1986, had 6 inflorescences with 40 flowers open and almost 200 buds.
