Biology : Epiphytic herb; pseudobulbs 0,4-0,8 cm apart, 1-leafed, ± orbicular, 1-1,5x0,4-1 cm, 2-4-angled; leaf lanceolate, 4-8,5x0,8-1,6 cm; inflorescence 5-7 cm long, 3-12-flowered; peduncle erect, 1,5-4 cm long; rachis ± swollen, flat, 4-angled, ± zigzag, 1,5-4 cm long, flowers arising from the 2 concave sides; bracts triangular, 6-8x4-6 mm; flowers distichous, not fully open, greenish tinged purple or entirely red-purple; sepals ovate, 5-6x2-3,7 mm; petals linear, c. 2x0,3 mm; lip oblong, straight, 1,6-2x0,7-1 mm, thick, lip densely hirsute-aculeate.
Ecology : (Evergreen) forest; on large branches of Aucoumea klaineana, Nauclea diderrichii; 320-665 m alt. (Gabon).
