Biology : Epiphytic herb; pseudobulbs 3-6 cm apart, 1-leafed, ± ellipsoid, 3-4-angled, 2,5-6x1-2 cm; leaf elliptical, 4-21x0,8-3,4 cm, very thick, leathery; inflorescence 15-50 cm long, 20-100-flowered; peduncle erect, 10-20 cm long; rachis arching, flattened, leaf-like, 6-38 cm long, 0,5-2,5 cm wide, edges sharp, glabrous, green with brown spots; bracts spreading, linear, 3,5-6x1,5-3 mm; flowers set alternately on each side of rachis, yellow speckled purple or entirely purple, not fully open; sepals ovate-acuminate, 5-11x2-4 mm; petals oblong, 3-6x1-2 mm; lip recurved, elliptic, fleshy, 3x1,5 mm, margins ± denticulate.
Ecology : Forest; rain-forest; swampy forest; on trunks of large trees, on moss and ferns; 0-1250 m alt.
