Biology : Epiphytic herb; pseudobulbs 2,5-4 cm apart, 2-leaved, ± ellipsoid, 2,2-4x0,8-1,3 cm, 4-angled; leaves linear-lanceolate, 6-15x0,8-1 cm; inflorescence 20-31 cm long, 8-16-flowered; peduncle erect, 12-23 cm long; rachis swollen, 4-angled, 6-8 cm long; bracts recurved-spreading, concave, deltoid, 14x12 mm; flowers distichous, borne in the 2 concave sides of rachis, red, not fully open; sepals ovate, 4,7-6x2,9-4,4 mm; petals not recurved, obovate, 3,6-4x1,6-2 mm, thin; lip recurved, ovate, 4x2-2,4 mm, thick, with 2 longitudinal ridges.
Ecology : Forest; epiphyte on Pandanus; 200-950 m alt.
  Not recollected in Gabon since the 2 collections made in 1925 (Le Testu 5527, 5547), and not found in Cameroon elsewhere than on Mt Kupe (Zapfack 607, June 1996), “despite extensive botanical survey work there” (Onana & Cheek, l.c.).
