Biology : Epiphytic herb; pseudobulbs clustered, 1-leafed, ovoid, ± 4-angled, 1-1,8x0,6-0,9 cm, covered with scales when young; leaf oblong-lanceolate, 3,5-6,5x1,4-2 cm; inflorescence 4-7,5 cm long, 2-5-flowered, patent; peduncle 2-4 cm long; rachis 2-5 cm long; bracts recurved, ovate, 3-4x1,5-2 mm; flowers large, distichous, pale greenish, purple-speckled; sepals oblong, 10-19,5x8-8,5 mm, below and margins finely papillose, with some cilia; petals obovate, 8x2,2 mm, margins ciliate in apical half; lip thick, ovate, 5,5x3,5 mm, glabrous, with 2 obtuse ridges above; fruit unknown.
Ecology : Lowland forest.
  Known only from the type (Smith 570), collected in 1981.
  Related to B. curvimentatum and B. colubrinum.
