Biology : Epiphytic creeping herb; pseudobulbs 2,5-12 cm apart, 2-leaved, ovoid, 1,5-4x0,5-1 cm; leaves oblong, 2,5-6x0,5-1 cm; inflorescence 3,5-7 cm long, 10-16-flowered; peduncle ± wiry, 5-6 cm long; rachis ± nodding, 3,5-7 cm long; bracts ovate, 3,5-6x1,6-3 mm; flowers distichous, yellowish; sepals ovate, acute, 4-5x2-3 mm; petals not recurved, elliptic, 2x1 mm, thin; lip recurved, elliptic-oblong, 2-3x1-2 mm, thick, furrowed at base, hidden by other tepals; tip acute-acuminate, margins undulate.
Ecology : Forest; 1900-2400 m alt.
  Not in Burundi (confused with B. bavonis). Perhaps also so in Rwanda, fide Fischer & al., 2010: l.c. If so, the species would be restricted to Ruwenzori and Virunga Vulcanoes. – In B. bavonis the lip is exposed between sepals and petals.
