Biology : Epiphytic herb; pseudobulbs 1,5-9 cm apart, 1-2-leaved, narrowly ovoid-ellipsoid, 4,5-7,5x1,2-2,5 cm, sharply 4-6-angled; leaves petiolate (0,5-1 cm), linear-lanceolate, 10-25x1,2-2,6 cm, tip emarginate; inflorescence 15-28 cm long, 24-50-flowered; peduncle erect, sturdy, 8,5-16 cm long; rachis erect, 7-15 cm long, slightly swollen, 4-angled in section, flowers arising from the 2 concave sides; bracts spreading, elliptic, 9-13x5-7 mm, acute; flowers recurved, yellow with purple markings; sepals ovate, 3,2-4,5x2-2,5 mm; petals not recurved, linear, 2-3x0,2-0,4 mm, acute; lip elliptic, 1,3-2x1-1,5 mm, tip reflexed.
Ecology : Forests; in central parts of tree crowns, on bark, in small humus deposits; 0-900 m alt.
  Close to and confused with B. lupulinum (see Jenny, 2010: l.c.).
