  B. teretifolium was described on one specimen (Schlechter 12362, B †) without flowers collected in 1899, recorded as common. It was collected again in 1986 (Thomas 5281, 5950; MO). Then collected by Droissart in 2004, and by Droissart and Simo Stévart in following years. – Not figuring in Fl. Cameroun 35, 2001.
Lachenaud & al. on B. calyptratum var. lucifugum (Pl. Ecol. Evol. 146: 124-125, 2013, and Scripta Bot. Belg. 50: 307-308, 2013), it seems that some material of that species collected in Cameroon and Equat. Guinea was misidentified as B. teretifolium.
