Biology : Epiphytic herb; stem woody, erect, to 20 cm long, leafy in terminal part; roots greenish white, 3-4 mm Ø; leaves 4-12, distichous, cuneate, oblanceolate, 5-15x1-2 cm, apex unequally 2-lobed; inflorescences 1-5, pendent, borne at axils of lower leaves, to 15 cm long, 7-12-flowered, peduncle to 2 cm long; flowers spreading, closest towards tip of inflorescence, white, tinged with green, c. 2 cm Ø; pedicel and ovary 1-2,5 cm long; tepals ovate, acute, 0,6-1,2x0,3-0,4 cm; lip ovate, suddenly acute, 0,6-1x0,3-0,5 cm; spur straight, 1-2,5 cm long, inflated in apical part.
Ecology : Rain-forest, moist forest, gallery forest; in moderate to deep shade; rather low down on tree trunks with roots embedded in deep moss; 700-2200 m alt.
  When not in flower, can be confused with A. jacksonii, but A. ugandensis has much smaller flowers with a shorter spur.
  Plants have been sold under the name Aerangis laurentii (now correctly called Summerhayesia laurentii), fide I. & E. la Croix, l.c.
