Terrestrial herb 15-60 cm tall, very slender; pseudobulbs subterranean, ovoid, 1-2x c. 1 cm, in chains; leaves 2-6, appearing after anthesis, linear, grass-like, 10-30x c. 0,2 cm; inflorescence laxly to densely 5-15-flowered in upper half, peduncle ± covered by 4-5 papery sheaths; flowers small, not opening fully, whitish to yellow, spur and lip side lobes often tinged with red; bracts scarious, linear, 6-10 mm long; pedicel and ovary arched, 4-8 mm long; sepals and petals oblanceolate, 4-9x1,5-3 mm; lip c. 7 mm long, 4-5 mm wide, 3-lobed; side lobes narrow, rounded; mid-lobe oblong, truncate or obtuse, c. 2,5x2,5 mm, margins undulate or dentate; callus of 2-3 basal ridges with 3-5 lines of papillae on mid-lobe; spur slender, 2-4 mm long; fruit pendent, c. 20 mm long. |

Seasonally wet grassland; perennially damp ground; grassland in sponge areas; shallow swamps; wet bog and dambo; swampy soils, sometimes in free-standing water; sandy peaty moist soil; submontane grassland; 0-2300 m alt. |
