Terrestrial herb 70-100(-130) cm tall, distinctive, attractive; tubers irregularly cylindrical-conical, 2,5-4x1,5-2 cm, in a tight chain; leaves 2-3, linear, grass-like, ribbed, 20-55x0,3-2 cm; inflorescence peduncle with 2-7 scarious sheaths 2-6 cm long; rachis 6-16 cm long, 8-20-flowered; flowers pendent, bright orange with yellow lip side lobes and callus; bracts setose, 15-40 mm long; pedicel and ovary 6-10 mm long; tepals pointing forward, linear; sepals 28-45-54x3-5 mm (the laterals the longest); petals 20-40x1,5-5 mm; lip straight, 20-27 mm long, 3-lobed near base; side lobes short; mid-lobe spathulate, 15-16x4 mm; callus of 2 ridges at base with many long papillae on mid-lobe; spur absent; fruit pendent, 15-20 mm long. |
