Biology : Terrestrial herb 30-43 cm tall; pseudobulbs conical, 2-4x1-1,5 cm, in a chain; leaves 7-8, erect, linear, 5-20x c. 0,1 cm, developing after anthesis; inflorescence peduncle with a short sheath in middle; rachis 6-15 cm long, laxly 3-10-flowered; bracts lanceolate, 4-10 mm long; flowers spreading, sepals brown or greenish, petals pale pinkish white, lip pinkish veined red with white papillae, spur olivaceous; pedicel and ovary 6-15 mm long; sepals ± erect, linear-lanceolate, 10-16x0,5-2 mm; petals elliptic, 8-13x1-3 mm; lip 9-16 mm long, 7 mm wide, 3-lobed in middle; side lobes rounded; mid-lobe oblong-elliptic, 4-6x3-4 mm; callus of 3 basal ridges and 3 lines of papillae on mid-lobe; spur conical, 4-7 mm long; incurved; fruit unknown ?
Ecology : Miombo woodland on sandy soil; Brachystegia boehmii and escarpment woodland; under trees in sandy soil in Brachystegia woodland; 900-1600 m alt.
  Resembling E. penduliflora but lip different.
