Terrestrial herb 11-30 cm tall, glabrous except for flower lip and tubers; tuber ± ovoid, 1,5-1,7x1-1,5 cm, 2-5-noded; leaf 1, after flowering, erect, blade ovate-acute, 5-6x3-4 cm, heavily pleated, dark olive-green above with silvery veins, dark purple beneath; petiole c. 6 cm long, sulcate; inflorescence scape erect, 1(-2)-flowered; flowers reddish outside; bracts 1-2, ± lanceolate, 14-23x0,6-1,6 mm; sepals and petals lanceolate, greenish with red veins, c. 20-25x3-4 mm; lip cream-yellow with prominent reddish venation, ± ovate, 18-25x14-18 mm, obscurely 3-lobed, with 2 fleshy pubescent ridges from base to midlobe; side lobes rounded, erect, enclosing column; midlobe reflexed; ovary c. 5 mm long. |
