Biology : Annual herb with a slender taproot (sometimes woody at base) flexuous. 45° or less; stem and branches very slender.

Ecology : Sandy or sandy-clayey soils, schist or paragneiss, mostly in dry situations: open woodland, savanna, scrub, grassland, along roadsides, overgrazed areas; even from cracks in rocky areas; one specimen from a copper outcrop; 350-1460 m alt.
  Botswana, Namibia, S. Africa (all provinces).
