Biology : Biennial or perennial succulent herb with tuberous root and petiole, 4-6 cm long; blade 2,5-3 ??2,8-3,2 cm; flowers white, 3 below, floriferous above, usually solitary.
Ecology : Grassland, bushveld in rocky places; to 2200 m alt. S. Africa (Transvaal, Orange Free State, Cape); Namibia; ? Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana. Very polymorphic species comprising 2 vars.
