Trop. Afr.
Biology : Perennial herb, sometimes shortly stoloniferous, forming small unpleasant smell; stems to c. 1 m long, from underground rhizome.
Ecology : Rocks in woodland and dense mist forest, sometimes pendulous; to 1600 m alt. S. Africa (Transvaal, Natal, Orange Free State, Cape), Swaziland, Lesotho. Very polymorphic species comprising 2 vars.
