Ecology and distribution

Biology : Erect herb to 3-4 cm tall; inflorescence lax, 3-8-flowered; bracts brown, 6-8 mm long; flowers green, to 12 mm long; pedicel 6 mm long; ovary 3-4 mm long; sepals free for 1/2 their length; dorsal sepal ± ovate, 8-9x4-5 mm, laterals 10-12x5 mm; petals ovate, c. 7x2 mm; lip 3-lobed, ovate, with 2 white rugulose calli at base of mid-lobe; fruit to 25 mm long, pedicel elongating to 20 mm.
Ecology : “Presumably lowland forest” (Cable & Cheek, 1998: l.c.); “submontane forest with Allanblackia gabonensis …, Carapa grandiflora and Cola sp.; 1100-1200 m” (Cribb & al., 2010: 317).
  Cribb & al. (2010: l.c.) discuss the presence of this species outside Mt Cameroon (discovered there by Dusén). A collection from near Yaounde is “debatable”. Szlachetko & al. (2010: 357) add another locality: “Original forest on hill facing the village of N’Kolandom, 2°48’N 11°10’E, alt. 700 m. 5 April 1975, De Wilde 8144 a (WAG !). Also repeated by Onana, Fl. Cameroun 40: 233, 2013.
