Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Liane with striate blackish stems covered with pale spreading hairs; inflorescence long, silvery hirsute with 50-100 large greenish-white flowers; oid (S-shaped to) curved, with dense golden-brawn irritant bristles.
Ecology : Afromontane evergreen rain-forst; plants climbing up in trees along small stream; 450-1560-1680 m alt.
  Flowers and foliage very similar to those of M. poggei var. pesa , and confusions possible without fruits.
