Biology : Filiforme or slender, annual, suberect herb ± 10-20 cm tall, with habitus of M. praetermissa; stem ramose at the base, 4-angular becoming sulcate in the upper part, ± glabrous.
Ecology : Sod on base of a Kopje.
  S. Africa (the first species of Microcharis that has been found (1891) south of the Tropic).
