Biology : Herb to suffretex with a procumbent, diffuse and branched, angular, grooved and striate stem 0,1-1 m long, usually tawny to brownish, moderately to densely uncinulate-puberulent and sparsely to moderately pilose with long tapering hairs.
Ecology : Grassland; black cotton soil; deciduous woodland; Echinochloa grassland in mopane woodland on black cracking clay; 600-1900 m alt.
  India to China, Java, Celebes. - Undoubtedly introduced in Africa (and Madagascar); not mapped.
