Biology : Shrub 0,9-3 m atll; stems covered with tubercles which render them scabrid; these tubercles correspond to the tubercular-based hairs of other species; the older stems are purple-brown, ridged, lenticellate and glabrescent.
Ecology : Rocky slopes; grassland with Xerophyta, Helichrysum above Widdringtonia forest; 1200-2000 m alt.
