Biology : Erect, ascending or partly twining herb with dense ferruginous stiff-hairy stems 15-40 cm tall, from a woody lease; leaves digitately 3-foliolate, leaflets long, narrow with very strong midrib; inflorescence branched, to c. 70 cm long;
Ecology : Open grassland with scattered trees in yellow soil infirebreak; Uapaca woodland in sandy soil in open bush, in firebreak; 1500-1740 m alt.
  Very close to O. upembae , with identical leaflet venation.
