Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Tree altogether glabrous 6-25 m; stem to 10 m, slender, straight, to 70 cm Ø; crown spreading and feathery; bark grey-black to black-brown scaling raggedly, leaving red scars; foliage graceful, pale, drooping at tips.
Ecology : Open forests on sand; sandstone; savanna and rather open grass woodland in moister places; savanna on fine gravel; deciduous woodland of various types; from probably sea-level to 1370 m alt.
  Caprivi Strip; Botswana.
