Trop. Afr.
Biology : Tree (5-)10-16 m, with a rounded crown.
Ecology : Open, deciduous woodland; drier types of woodland and scrub forest; thicket; frequently associated with termite mounds; also along river banks (in S. Africa); near sea-level-1350 m alt.
  Cultivated in Uganda and Kenya (sub nom. S. latifolia Jacq.)
