Biology : Perennial plant of varying habit, mostly an erect or rambling shrub, the shoots becoming scandent at their tips, or a woody climber, less often an erect woody herb, 0,3-2,4 m tall; often flowering when quite leafless;
Ecology : Grassland; thicket; scrub-bushland; woodland; often on rocky ground and near river; open Terminalia-Combretum woodland; 900-2400 m alt.
