Biology : Woody shrub or subshrub 1-3,5 m tall, covered in blackish-red glands; branches striate, hairy or glabrous; leaflets 5-7, 3-30x2-20 mm; flower standard dark violet or blue, wings paler, keel white with violet purple apex. Cassia-like shrub.
Ecology : Rocky places near waterfalls; 700-800 m alt.
  S. Africa.
