Ecology and distribution

Biology : Subshrub or herb, spiny, branched from the base, or erect, 5-50 cm tall, densely leafy, often with many stems, 2-5 mm Ø, stout, yellow to dark brown, appearing greyish-white because of the indumentum, rarely ribbed.
Ecology : Ecology unknown in Tibesti (Chad); overgrazed area around gardens (S Bilma, Niger); wadi zones; sand; 1850-1900 m alt.
  Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Egypt; Israel, Syria.
