Biology : Perennial herb, or sometimes annual, 1-4,5 m long, floating; stems hollow, spongy, thick, 0,5-1 cm Ø, densely covered with adventitious roots.
Ecology : Permanent swamps; sand banks; floodplains; slow-river and pond margins; 300-1500 m alt.
  Namibia, Botswana.
