Trop. Afr.
Biology : Subshrub with slender somewhat woody erect or prostrate stems 0,3-2,7 m tall, from a woody rootstock; stems pubescent with glandular tubercular-based hairs.
Ecology : Brachystegia, Julbernardia and other deciduous woodlands; drainage ditches in grassland; sometimes on stony red soils; open woodland on sandy soil; vlei edges; savanna with Loudetia or Andropogon; swamp sides; 1050-2430 m alt.
