Biology : Erect subshrub, 7-40 cm tall, with many stems from a woody rootstock, flowering after burns; stems glabrous or sparsely pubescent with tubercular-based hairs; seeds unknown.
Ecology : Burnt grassland; open Brachystegia woodland on stony soil; often in areas just above the bamboo zone; termite mounds; forest; 1350-1800 m alt.
