Biology : Shrub 1,2-4,5 m tall, often with swollen pithy floating stems; stems densely hispid with golden-brown tubercular-based glandular hairs.
Ecology : Permanent and seasonal swamps; edges of rivers, lakes (particularly crater lakes); river floodplains, etc.; often standing in a metre of water; 300-1590 m alt.
