Biology : Suffrutex with slender annual woody stems armed with scattered recurved prickles, ramose at the top, 30-70 cm tall, from a stout, horizontal, spindle-shaped rootstock 45 x 15 cm; branches puberulous, slightly aculeate. Pods known!
Ecology : White sand at forest edge under high trees; shrub-grown meadows; dry beds of seasonal rivers; moist depressions in mixed woodland; grassland and wooded grassland on Kalahari sand; 900-1400 m alt.
  Botswana, Namibia.
