Biology : Deciduous shrub, softly woody, ± 2-4 m tall with slander, sparsely branched zigzag stems; branches densely appressed strigulose when young, glabrescent later.
Ecology : Dense bush; thickets fringing stream; in tall grass annually burned; riparian forest; near rivers, streams, rocky outcrops, termite mounds; 0-1100 m alt.
  Caprivi Strip, Botswana, S. Africa (N Transvaal); Madagascar.
Biol./Eco : Shrub; Subhumid, Dry; Woodland, Inselberg/Rock Face; 0-499 m, 500-999 m; distribution: Africa.
