Biology : Annual or sometimes perennial herb with a taproot and ± procumbent branches; stems to 1,5-2 mm Ø, copiously branched 15-50 cm long, clothed with short spreading grey pubescence; flowers splendidly scarlet-red.
Ecology : Sands desintegrated from a red conglomerate; plains; savannas; hilly sandy places; forest margins; damp meadows; sometimes frequent; deciduous or dry evergreen woodland, especially on rocky ground; 240-900 m alt.
