Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Annual herb to 40 cm tall, almost glabrous; stems many from the base, procumbent, 4-angular, grooved; pod unarmed.
Ecology : Open grassy areas in evergreen bushland; grassland, scrub; disturbed ground; 1150-1350 m alt. (Somalia), 1650-2750 m (Eritrea, Ethiopia).
  Mediterranean Region, Sinai, Arabia, Iran. Adventice in temperate regions.
