Biology : Erect subshrub or woody herb 0,3-2 m tall; stems pubescent, the younger parts usually covered with a dense grey or silvery velvety tomentum.
Ecology : Woodland; grassland with scattered trees often on black cotton soil; floodplain alluvium; pan margins; scrub mopane on stony ground; cultivated fields; 0-1200 m alt.
  NE S. Africa.
