Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Creeper or climber 2-8 m long, the main stems to 8 mm Ø; stems covered with dense short ferruginous hairs, later glabrescent.
Ecology : Forest edges; grassland with scattered trees; hillside bushland; cultivations; dry forest; swampy and gallery forest; regrowths; fallow land; scrub; Brachystegia woodland; sometimes on termite mounds; 150-1800 m alt.
  Considerably variable species.
  S. Africa; Mascarene Islands; Sri Lanka, India.
