Biology : Perennial climbing herb ±1,5-2 m long from a woody rootstock; stems densely covered with pale ferruginous hairs.
Ecology : Grassland and associated evergreen forest patches; grassland with scattered Combretum; bushland; cultivated ground; sometimes in swampy areas; forest margins; savannas; fallow land; 1140-3000 m alt.
  Very variable.
