Ecology and distribution

Biology : Erect subshrub ±60 cm tall, with several erect shoots from a stout woody rootstock, usually appearing after burning; stems stout or slender, pubescent and with dark red glands; branches 20-30 cm long.
Ecology : Brachystegia, Diplorhynchus secondary woodland; Brachystegia, Isoberlinia woodland; plateau woodland on laterite; rocky hills; wooded savanna; 900-1300 m alt.
  Some forms are erect, of characteristic yellow-green color (in life and dry) with stems densely shortly pubescent.
  First collection in 1911, second in 1938, etc.
