Biology : Herb or subshrub 0,5-1,8 m tall; stems clustered, angular, erect, mostly unbranched, with prominent nodes, densely grey pubescent when young, older parts glabrous; short lateral branches sometimes present; leaves unifoliolate; pod unknown.
Ecology : Grassland and rocky slopes, ? forest edges (steppe on stony orange soil); 1200-1950 m alt.
  A very distinctive species of the R. caribaea group.
