Biology : Small tree with glabrous young branchlets; bark flaking minutely; stipules not spinescent, soon deciduous; prickles short, recurved, in pairs, sometimes absent; flowers (colour ?), but calyx and corolla red or purplish, in spikes.
Ecology : Woodland, evergreen bushland; 1890-2400 m alt.
  Closely related to A. persiciflora.
